Psychedelics & the LGBTQIA2S+ Community
Unlimited Sciences is committed to highlighting the perspective of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals in our research, education, and advocacy.
Our Ayahuasca Study
Unlimited Sciences is conducting the first-of-its-kind study exploring the therapeutic potential and risks of ayahuasca specifically within LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
The queer community’s complicated history with psychedelics presents an opportunity for reclamation and healing, allowing LGBTQIA2S+ individuals to:
- Explore personal and collective trauma in a supportive setting.
- Reconnect with their identities through spiritual and emotional healing.
- Build safe, inclusive psychedelic spaces designed for queer individuals.
Groundbreaking, Queer-Centric Research
Our past LGBTQIA2S+ research has been featured internationally, from MAPS Psychedelic Science to the Oxford Psychedelic Society. We’re not just researchers, we’re a community. Many of our staff identify as LGBTQIA2S+ and are personally invested in making sure psychedelic science reflects the realities of queer lives.
- Our research has helped support the queer community in processing trauma, reconnecting with their identities and reclaiming their place in healing spaces that too often exclude them.
- We affirm that queer identities are not pathologies to be treated. They are powerful, valid and deserving of healing spaces rooted in dignity and inclusion.
But There's More Work to Be Done
- Research participation and data collection from LGBTQIA2S+ individuals in supportive, affirming environments like Jungle Gayborhood.
- Scientific analysis that helps shape inclusive psychedelic medicine.
- Direct community support via our Psychedelic Info Line, which offers 100% free, zero-stigma access to evidence-based psychedelic education for all people.
- Ongoing advocacy and public education, through blogs, resources, and outreach centered on queer psychedelic experiences.

How We Support the
Queer Community
Unlimited Sciences’ mission, resources, and staff are uniquely positioned to help the LGBTQIA2S+ community learn, heal, and expand with the help of psychedelics.
Research Spotlight
The LGBTQIA2S+ community has long been under-represented in psychedelic research. By studying the effects of psychedelics on queer people, we enhance our understanding of how psychedelics affect everyone differently.
Direct Support
Our Psychedelic Info Line offers direct, judgment-free access to information on psychedelics, grounded in science, like our own research on queer experiences with these substances.
Our Own Diversities
Many of our staff identify as LGBTQIA2S+ and bring both personal experience and professional expertise to our mission of ensuring that psychedelic science serves all people.
Are you looking for
1:1 Guidance?
We often receive calls on our Psychedelic Info Line from LGBTQIA2S+ individuals looking for support before and after psychedelic experiences.
Our team works with an awareness of intersectionality, trauma, and minority stress, providing an inclusive approach to your psychedelic journey.
